With top speeds getting on for 60 kph, the legendary Trans-Siberian winds its way west to east from Moscow to Vladivostok on the Sea of Japan. Seven days and 9,287 kilometres, with only a few stops and the alternating of day and night to give any sense of time. For the first leg of our trip, we chose Irkoutsk, “just” four days and 5,285 kilometres into our journey.
